Dedicated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1935, the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium has played host to events that include everything from historical moments such as the signing of the North American Treaty, establishing NATO, in 1949, as well as thousands of galas, weddings, and corporate events throughout the decades.
In 2023, Epoch Design Co. was commissioned to reimagine the Mellon's brand identity, after the lease was taken over by new management. Owned by the Federal Government, the space is utilized exclusively for public and private events, and we needed to build systems to support the marketing efforts and sales goals for rentals. EDC envisioned a brand that felt modern, fresh, and simple, with visual touches that called on the building's architectural elements.
We launched the brand, website, and a social media channel just 5 weeks after receiving the initial scope of work, in order to ensure a smooth transition for the new venue manager - who were able to begin selling the space on Day 1 of their lease contract with the U.S. Government. In addition to digital efforts, EDC created marketing and sales documents, branded internal collaterals, and print advertisements for publications such as Washingtonian Weddings.
